Privacy policy
Last updated 27 October 2026.
This policy explains how FindStorage ("FindStorage", "we") processes personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Responsible party and Information Officer
The responsible party is FindStorage. Our Information Officer is Alex Crossley, contactable at hello@findstorage.co.za.
What we collect and why
- Enquiries: your name, email, optional phone number, your message and the answers you give in the form. We use them only to pass your enquiry to the storage facility (or storage facilities) you chose, to send you a confirmation, and to keep a record of the enquiry. You consent to this when you tick the box on the form.
- Contact and listing forms: the details you send us, to reply and to manage listings.
- Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address (to stop spam), and anonymous counts of page views and clicks per listing. We use privacy-friendly analytics that don't set advertising cookies.
- Saved storage facilities: stored only in your browser, never sent to us.
Who we share it with
Only the storage facility (or up to 3 similar storage facilities, if you ask us to) that you send an enquiry to, and our service providers who process data for us (hosting, database and email delivery). We never sell your information or share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are deleted after 24 months. Contact messages are deleted once they are resolved, and after 24 months at most.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its processing, by emailing hello@findstorage.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
Business listings
Listings contain business information (name, address, phone, website, hours) from public sources or from the business itself. A business can ask us to correct or remove its listing, or to stop receiving enquiries, at any time.
